The Museum’s Education Division will be sponsoring Family Fun Days, geared especially for families with children 3 to 12 years old. We will have hands-on museum-themed activities on dates throughout the year, planned and led by the Education staff and volunteers.
Saturday, February 4:
Fossil-painting Family Workshops
Fool your friends with a fossil replica that you’ve painted to look like the real thing! The workshops start at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00 p.m. Cost is $1.00 per person with paid Museum admission, and seating is limited.
Saturday, February 11:
1880s at Work and Play Family Fun Day at the Victor Valley Museum
Did people have fun 130 years ago, or was it all work? Find this out as you try some of the work they had to do, plus some of the games and toys they had then. 1880s activities are included with paid Museum admission and will run from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Animals! Animals! Animals!
Animal-lovers unite! Make a difference for the live animals at the Museum by meeting animals up-close, playing animal games, watching trained animals, and much more! Some fees apply to some activities, with the money raised benefiting our Education programs and animals. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Petroglyphs and Pictographs Rock Art Family Fun Day
Find out how Native Americans created rock art and then try it out yourself! In these family workshops, you will get to make a petroglyph (carving) and a pictograph (painting) Workshops start on the hour (11:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00 p.m.) and are limited in size. The cost of each workshop is $1.00 per person with paid Museum admission and tickets will be available at the Museum’s front desk at 9:00 a.m. that day.
