County Human Resources Director Barbara Musselman resigned her employment with the county effective Thursday, April 20, County Administrative Officer William H. Randolph said today.

The resignation was voluntary, and Mr. Randolph believes it would not be appropriate for county officials to discuss any employee’s reasons for resigning or retiring. Musselman had been with the county since 1987 and was appointed H.R. director in 1996.

Mr. Randolph has appointed veteran Human Resources Officer William Brown to serve as the county’s interim Human Resources Director until he names a permanent director. Mr. Randolph said he expects to fill that position sometime during the next three months following a nationwide search.

Brown is a 31-year employee of the county, and Mr. Randolph said he is confident Brown will do a superb job in leading the Human Resources Department during the next few months.
