Free Admission Sunday at the County Museum
The San Bernardino County Museum invites the public to visit the museum in Redlands during regular museum hours with no admission fee on Sunday, January 7. Visitors will enjoy special exhibits along with displays of specimens and artifacts that interpret local history, anthropology, geology, paleontology, and biological sciences in regional context. Free admission is sponsored by the San Bernardino County’s Fifth Supervisorial District.
Special exhibits at the museum are “Underneath It All: fitting into fashion,” “Hanging with the Museum,” “Descanse en Paz,” and First People: the art in artifact.” Visitors will also enjoy outdoor exhibits that include native plant and cactus gardens, a steam locomotive and caboose, mining and lumbering equipment, heritage orange groves, and sculpture.
The Museum Store features unique merchandise that relates to museum collections and exhibits, including outstanding selections of books, learning toys, rocks and minerals, teacher resources, and gifts. The Exploration Station live animal gallery will be open from 1–4 p.m.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. Everyone is admitted free on Sunday, January 7. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.
