Our office was pleased to join the community for City of Victorville’s 2022 State of the City breakfast held in partnership with the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce.

Members of the Victorville City Council shared some of the exciting developments that took place over the past year. This included expanding public safety by adding 11 police personnel, five sheriff’s deputies, five sheriff’s service specialists, and one crime analyst.

Additionally, the city welcomed Fire Station 315 with the addition of six firefighter/paramedics. Three Type 1 engines will go into service this fall, and a new Tiller is on order for 2023.

On the business front, Victorville’s economy is thriving, with more than 100 new businesses added last year. Development is also booming at Southern California Logistics Airport. By the end of 2022, a 1-million-square-foot Amazon Fulfillment Center will open at SCLA, bringing approximately 1,000 new jobs to the region.

Other highlights:

• A new homeless Wellness Center Campus is in the works, which will feature more than 170 additional beds.

• An all-inclusive playground is being developed at Eva Dell Park, thanks to a $3.3 million grant from California Department of Parks and Recreation.

• Five new Code Enforcement officers were hired to address illegal dumping in the city.

• The Green Tree Extension is on track to be completed by Summer 2023, providing commuters with a corridor linking Hesperia Road to Ridgecrest/Yates Road.

• Victorville Police Department added 50 additional license plate readers to their collection, helping deputies investigate and solve more crimes.

• The city's Prisoner Work Release Program resulted in the cleanup of 52.01 tons of trash.

Thanks to the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce and Victorville City Council for sharing so many positive developments in the community. The future looks bright!
