  1. Coroner case 701000947--On Monday February 8, 2010 at approximately 6:11 PM, motorists came upon what appeared to be a single vehicle traffic collision on Highway 138 north of the entrance to Lake Silverwood. The occupants of the vehicle, Jesus Roman Fuentes Jr. age 34 and his son, a 4 year old Hispanic male both residents of Hesperia, had suffered major trauma and were extracted from the vehicle where fire department and CHP personnel began rendering medical aid. As emergency personnel were tending to Fuentes and the juvenile, they discovered both had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Both were flown to a local hospital where the juvenile died as a result of his injuries. Jesus Fuentes was listed in critical condition. Detectives have determined Jesus Roman Fuentes shot the 4 year old and then himself after intentionally driving his vehicle into the guard rail in a large pull out above Lake Silverwood.   2. Coroner case 701000945 and 701000946 VN: On Monday, February 8, 2010, a privately owned single-engine fixed wing aircraft (a Yakovlev Yak-52) was witnessed to crash into the Santa Ana River Wash approximately one mile northeast of the airport at 12:53 PM. Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene to find both occupants dead at the scene. The victims are United States Air Force officers stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside. The names will be released when next-of-kin have been notified. The incident is being investigated jointly by the Federal Aviation Administration and the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department.   3. Coroner Case #701000919 - On 02/07/2010 at 2:05 AM, Carlos Solorzano Jr., a 44 year old resident of Fontana, was traveling westbound on Highland Ave. at California St. in a silver 2001 Suzuki. Solorzano drifted off the roadway and struck a concrete overpass pillar. Solorzano was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The San Bernardino Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the accident.[020710 1030 SC]

  4. Coroner Case #701000921—On 02/07/10 at about 3:30 AM, officers from the California Highway Patrol were sent to the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 south of State Route 138 for a vehicle that had struck the rear of a disabled tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder at that location. When they arrived, they found a 20 year-old male resident of Fort Irwin, with multiple injuries. Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the male subject dead at the scene at 3:45 AM. The name will be released when next-of-kin have been notified.   5. Coroner Case #’s 701000899 and 701000908 – On 02/06/2010 at 7:18 AM members of the Molina family, mother, father, and son, were traveling south on interstate 15 just north of highway 138 in the rural Hesperia area, in a 1999 Mercury Villager mini-van. The mother, Merced was driving the van when they struck a stopped tow truck in the center median of the interstate. Medic’s were summoned and Merced Molina a 52 year old resident of Apple Valley was pronounced dead on scene at 7:18 AM. Father, Javier and Son Javier Jr. were transported to area hospitals. Javier Molina Jr. a 19 year old resident of Apple Valley later died at Loma Linda University Medical Center at 1:36 PM. The California Highway Patrol is also investigating. [020610 2100 JK]

  6. Coroner Case #701000890 – On 02/06/2010 at 4:50 AM Ernesto Enriquez Jr. a 25 year old male resident of Fontana was traveling southbound on interstate 15 in a 2004 Infinity. For unknown reasons, the Infinity came to rest facing east in the southbound #1 lane near Baseline, in Etiwanda. A Toyota Tundra pickup was also traveling south and struck the Infinity broadside in the driver’s side door. Medic’s were summoned and Enriquez was pronounced dead on scene at 4:50 AM.   7. Coroner Case #701000892 and 701000893-On 02/06/10 at about 4:54 AM officers from the Ontario Police Department were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a vehicle traveling westbound on Central Ave. approaching Orchard St. in Montclair. The pursued vehicle drove into the intersection while a green Ford Contour was traveling southbound on Central Ave. and was also in the intersection. The suspect vehicle struck the Ford Contour broadside. The Ford's driver, Jose Gilberto Garcia, a 42 year-old resident of San Bernardino and his nephew, Luis Alberto Garcia, a 16 year-old resident of Yucaipa were transported from the scene to the Montclair Hospital Medical Center where Luis was pronounced dead at 5:26 AM and Jose was pronounced dead at 5:24 AM. An autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine the exact cause of death. The Ontario and Montclair Police Departments are investigating the circumstances of the incident. [020610 1920 JK]

  8. Coroner Case # 701000894 -- On 02/06/10 at 12:51 AM, San Bernardino Sheriff's Department dispatch received a 911 call of shots fired in 7900 block of Primrose Lane in Highland. When deputies arrived on scene, they found Christopher Johnson Jr, age 26, a resident of Highland in the backyard of an apartment complex. Johnson had suffered traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by fire department paramedics at 1:10 AM. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The incident is being investigated by the Sheriff's Department Homicide units. [020610 1920 JK]

  9. Coroner Case #’s 701000884, 701000885 -- On 02/5/10 at 8:55 PM San Bernardino City Fire Department received a call of a house fire in the 4000 block of Mountain Dr in San Bernardino. Gilbert Smith, a 77 year old resident of San Bernardino and Maria Muro a70 year old resident of Rialto were confirmed dead on scene. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department is investigating the incident. [02062010 0600 JK]

  10. Coroner Case 701000825-- On 02/03/10 at 2:18 PM The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department received a 911 call in the 24000 block of Monterey Avenue in San Bernardino. When officers arrived on scene, Angela Orozco, a 20 year old resident of San Bernardino was found dead inside her residence from traumatic injuries. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department is investigating the incident. [020410 0828 SY]

  11. Coroner case #701000730 / 701000731- On 01-30-2010, at about 9:22 PM, Hesperia Sheriff Station received a call that 25 year old Stephen Garcia of Pinion Hills had taken his son, 9 month old Wyatt Garcia of Yucca Valley, during a court ordered visitation and had threatened to kill Wyatt and then himself. Stephen and his son were found deceased in his vehicle in the 26,000 block of Old Toll Road in Twin Peaks on 01-31-10 at about 1:19 AM. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department is investigating this homicide/suicide. An autopsy will be performed later this week to determine the exact cause of death. [013110 1355 TC]

  12. Coroner Case 701000694-- On 01/29/10 at 8:12 AM Ontario Police Department received a 911 call of shots fired in the 2500 block of E. Riverside Dr., Ontario. When officers arrived on scene, Vincent Mejia II of West Covina was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex with traumatic injuries. Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. The Ontario Police Department is investigating the incident. [01292010 1537 SY]

  13. Coroner case #701000675--On 1/27/2010 at approximately 2:30 PM, Chino Police and Fire responded to a traffic collision involving a Toyota Camry and a bicycle rider on in the 6100 block of Kimball Avenue. The driver of the Toyota Camry had been traveling west on Kimball when she collided with a bicycle being ridden by Roy Carl Hall, a 59 year old resident of Ontario. Hall was transported by helipcopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries this a.m. Hall had been wearing a helmet.   14. Coroner case # 701000645-- On 01/26/2010 at approximately 8:45 PM, Robbie Winnen, a 48 year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga, was shot on the 71000 block of Samarkand Drive in the city of Twentynine Palms. Winnen was transported from the scene by ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 11:47 PM. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.   15. Coroner case # 701000641-- On 01/26/2010 at approximately 6:00 PM, Kyle Perreira, a 21 year-old resident of Victorville, jumped off the Bear Valley Road overpass onto southbound I-15 in Victorville. Perreira was struck by two vehicles and pronounced dead on-scene at 6:29 PM. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident. [012710 0340 GB]

  16. Coroner case # 701000595. (01/25/2010) Gilbert George Bribiesca, a 55 year old resident Upland was out on his front porch located on the 700 block of Washington Blvd in Upland. At 12:23 AM multiple gunshots were heard and Bribiesca was shot. Bribiesca was transported to the San Antonio Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:38 AM. The Upland Police Department is investigating the incident. [012510 0140 GB]

  17. Coroner case# 701000621--On 01/25/2010, Minerva Gonzalez, a 28 year-old resident of Fontana, was found unresponsive with traumatic injuries. A 911 call was made. Paramedics responded to the residence located on the 9000 block of Juniper Ave in Fontana and confirmed Gonzalez was dead on-scene at 3:39 PM. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Fontana Police Department Homicide Detectives are investigating the incident.   18. Coroner case # 701000589-- On Sunday, 01/24/2010 at 8:01 PM, Gina Ziesing, a 44 year old resident of Yucca Valley was crossing the street in the 55000 block of State Highway 62 in the city of Yucca Valley, when she was struck by a 2005 Buick van traveling east bound on State Highway 62. Ziesing was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the collision. [012510 0240 GB]

  19. Coroner case #'s 701000512 and 701000513 VN: On Monday evening, January 18, 2010, an aircraft (Cessna 340) flying from Henderson, Nevada, to Los Angeles, was lost from radar at 2030 hours, in the area of Lytle Creek. The aircraft was piloted by Everett Arinwine, a 47 year old resident of El Segundo, with a passenger, Angela Todd, age 42 of Horn Lake, Mississippi. Family reported the aircraft overdue on Wednesday evening, January 20th. A search of the area was conducted by members of the California Civil Air Patrol and the aircraft wreckage was found in Sycamore Canyon late Wednesday, or early Thursday. Due to the inaccessibility of the location, and a major weather system moving through the area, scene response and recovery by Sheriff Search and Rescue, Coroner Division personnel, and National Transportation and Safety Board investigators, was delayed until Saturday.   20. Coroner Case # 701000560 – On 01/22/2010 at 9:30 PM, Timothy Adams a 60 year old resident of Los Angeles was driving a 1979 Jeep CJ6 with a friend near the Giant Rock Air Strip in Landers. While driving, the Jeep overturned and Adams was pinned under the Jeep. His friend dug Adams out and Adams refused medical aid. They returned to the friend’s home in Landers for the night. This morning the friend awoke and found Adams unresponsive. The friend called 911 and medics with San Bernardino County Fire responded to the home. The medics confirmed Adams dead on 1/23/2010 at 6:48 AM. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The California Highway Patrol is also investigating. [012310 2200 JK]

  21. Coroner case #701000504: On 1/20/2010 at 10:23 PM, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stopped a car in the 15000 block of Burwood Road in Victorville. Jacob Smith, a 21 year-old resident of Victorville, was found in the back seat of the car with trauma. Smith was pronounced dead on-scene by paramedics. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Homicide Division, is investigating the incident. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. [01212010 1259 SY]

  22. Coroner case # 701000480. 01/20/2010. Thomas Peter Trozera, age 50 from Crestline was at home this morning at around 6:00 AM. Neighbors noticed smoke coming from all the windows of Trozera’s home and called 911 at 6:07AM. The fire department found Trozera on the kitchen floor not breathing. Trozera was transported by ambulance to St. Bernardine's Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment. Trozera was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at 7:17 AM. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Bomb and Arson detectives are investigating the incident. [012110 0008 JK]

  23. Coroner case #701000465 – On Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at about 1:28 pm the California Highway Patrol received a call reference a vehicle that went over the mountainside along State Route 189 approximately .5 miles east of North Bay Rd. in the city of Lake Arrowhead. The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown. Officers arrived on scene to find a red 2003 Ford pick-up truck overturned down the mountainside. Paramedics arrived on scene and found the driver of the vehicle, Paul Rado, a 61 year old resident of Crestline, dead. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. [012010 0010 GB]

  24. Coroner case # 701000419-- On Sunday, January 17, 2010, at about noon, riders on horseback came upon human remains near Texas Lane on the California side of the Nevada border in Sandy Valley. The remains were recovered on Monday, January 18, 2010, and attempts to determine the decedent’s identity and cause of death will continue.   25. Coroner case #701000435, On 1-18-2010, Jose Alfredo Lopez, age 26, resident of Fontana, was at home with his family in the 16500 block of Arrow Route in Fontana. At about 9:00 AM an assailant(s) entered the home and shot Jose who was pronounced dead on-scene at 9:12 AM by emergency personnel. Suspects are still outstanding. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Fontana Police Department at 909-350-7740 for further information.   26. Coroner case #701000430 --On Sunday January 17, 2010 the Ontario Police Department SWAT and Negotiations team responded to a residence in the 500 Block of West Belmont Street after a gang member, wanted for a parole violation, barricaded himself in an attic and began firing a handgun. The incident began just before 3:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon as officers were searching for an armed and dangerous gang member who was wanted for a parole violation. The wanted man was located and barricaded himself in the attic of a rear residence at that location. As officers surrounded to the location, multiple gunshots were heard coming from inside the attic area. A standoff then continued for several hours as the SWAT and Negotiations team attempted to make contact with the suspect. Just before 1:00 A.M. on Monday morning, SWAT Officers made entry into the attic area and discovered the suspect had died from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was identified as 34 year old Fernando Lopez of Chino. [011810 0600 GB]

  27. Coroner case # 70100428 – On January 17, 2009 at approximately 6:38 p.m., So Yon Bothe a 60 year old resident of Los Angeles was a passenger in a 2002 Lexus RX2300, traveling eastbound on State Highway 58, approximately one half mile east of Lenwood Road. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Lexus lost control of the vehicle which veered into the westbound lanes and was struck broadside, on the passenger side of the Lexus, by another vehicle. Bothe was transported to Barstow Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. [011810 0117 GB]

Coroner case # 701000407: Anthony John Kaminski, age 22 a resident of Victorville was a backseat passenger in a 1991 Ford Bronco traveling south on "I" Ave. and Alston Ave. in Hesperia at 2:23 AM on 1-17-10. The driver lost control of the vehicle. The Bronco rolled over three or four times. Kaminski was wearing a lap belt and was not ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.   30. Coroner case # 701000406: Truman Charles Switzer, age 24 a resident of Apple Valley was a backseat passenger in a 1991 Ford Bronco traveling south on "I" Ave. at Alston Ave. in Hesperia at 2:23 AM on 1-17-10. The driver lost control of the vehicle. The Bronco rolled over three to four times. Switzer was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Desert Valley Medical Center Emergency Room and pronounced dead at 3:42 AM. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the collision. [01172010 2230 GB]

  31. Coroner Case # 701000397- On 01/16/2010 at 4:45 PM, Wilfried Werner a 56 year-old resident of Los Angeles was the helmeted driver of a 1988 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound on Live Oak Canyon Rd. 2.2 miles south of Interstate 10 in Rural Redlands. He was traveling at approximately 40 miles per hour. Werner failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the northbound lane of Live Oak Canyon Rd. where he was struck by a pick up truck and ejected. Werner was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center by paramedics where he was pronounced dead at 7:13 PM, as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.   32. Coroner Case #701000379 - On 01/15/2010 at 8:15 P.M., Justin Chang, a 23 year old resident of Hacienda Heights was the driver of a 2007 Toyota Scion, traveling south bound on Highway 395 at mile post marker 61 in Rural Helendale. Chang lost control of his vehicle and swerved off the highway and then into the north bound lane of Highway 395. Chang was broadsided by a 2005 Honda van that was traveling north bound on Highway 395. Chang was removed from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedic Julie Heggenberge of the San Bernardino County Fire Department on 01/15/2010 at 9:04 PM.   33. Coroner case #701000366 –Back on 12/28/2009, Aaron Ulibarri, a 33 year-old resident of Victorville, was the driver of a 2005 Harley motorcycle that collided with a 2009 Toyota Corolla on the 12000 block of Hesperia Road in the city of Victorville. Ulibarri was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries on 01/14/2010 at 9:40 PM. San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department is investigating the collision. [0115210 0806 SY]

  34. 701000330 –On 1/13/2010 Phyllis E. Cuseo, a 77 year old resident of Bullhead City, AZ was the driver and sole occupant of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner westbound on Interstate 40, four miles east of Ludow. Cuseo was in the number one lane and drifted into the center divider, overcorrected to the right and overturned on the south shoulder. Cuseo was ejected from the vehicle. CHP and paramedics responded and Cuseo was pronounced dead at scene at 10:25 am. [011310 1844 SY]

  35. Coroner case #701000291--On 1/11/2010 at approximately 10:06 PM San Bernardino Police Department and Fire responded to a 9-1-1 call of shots fired in the 1500 block of North Perris Street in San Bernardino. A 35 year-old Hispanic male was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him dead on-scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The San Bernardino Police Department, Homicide Detail, is also investigating this incident. The name will be released pending notification to next of kin.   36. Coroner case #7001000224--On 1/9/2010 at approximately 2:52 PM Apple Valley Police and Fire responded to a 9-1-1 call of a child not breathing after being attacked by a dog in the 23000 block of Goshute Avenue in Apple Valley. Three year old Omar Martinez of Apple Valley,was found unresponsive and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted to determine exact cause of death. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department and Animal Control are investigating this incident. [011010 1600 TC]

  37. Coroner Case# 701000221--On 1-8-10 at about 11:39 PM, Chava Venegas Barrasa, age: 33, a resident of Upland, was found unresponsive with traumatic injuries on the garage floor of a residence in the 300 block of S. Bixby Way in Upland. Medical aid and Upland Police Department responded to the residence and pronounced him dead at the scene. An autopsy will be schedule to determine the cause of death. The Upland Police Department is investigating the incident. [011910 1615 EM]

  38. Coroner case #701000156--On 1/6/2010 at approximately 2:40 PM Sumiko Maria Thomas, an 81 year old resident of Victorville, was a pedestrian crossing Country Club Drive east of Makai Ct. in Victorville when she was struck by a Silver 2005 Cadillac CTS. California Highway Patrol and paramedics responded to the scene and Thomas was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where she later died of her injuries.   39. Coroner case #700100096--On 1/5/2010 at approximately 8:00 AM Victorville Police and Fire responded to a 9-1-1 call of a baby not breathing in the 16300 block of Pebble Beach Drive. Eighteen month old Mareesa Rodriguez was found unresponsive and transported to Victorvalley Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted to determine exact cause of death. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Homicide Detail is also investigating this incident. [01062010 0842 SY]

Coroner case #700705335 - Back on July 11, 2007, Kelly Gene Saunders, a 46 year old resident of San Bernardino, died as the result of a house fire in the 200 block of East 17th Street, in San Bernardino. The Coroner's Division has been unsuccessful in locating his family and is seeking the public's assistance in helping us to find them. If anyone knows of any relatives of Saunders, please contact the Coroner's Division at 909-387-2978 [071707 0358 CN] Family was located and notified of the death. No further assistance is needed.     2. Coroner Case 06-9509DC--The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department-Coroner Division is asking for public assistance. Back on 11/30/2006 Thomas Leroy Barton age 65, died of natural causes at San Antonio Community Hospital. He did not list anyone as his next of kin. He had also used the name of Roy Barton Thomas. He is believed to have been a transient in the Ontario area since 1998. Anyone with information as to his family is urged to contact the Coroner’s Division 909-387-2978. [120906 2025 RK]

    3. Coroner Case #06-9277CW—The Coroner’s Division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the assistance of the media and public in locating the next of kin for Gilbert Manuel Guzman, age: 53, (DOB:09/01/1953). Guzman died of apparent natural causes, on December 1, 2006, at a friend’s home in the 4000 block of Linson Street, in the city of Adelanto.     4. Coroner Case #06-8824WB—The Coroner’s Division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the assistance of the media and public in locating the next of kin for Enrique Valenzuela, age: 53, (DOB: 4/21/1953). Back on 11-14-06, he was found dead of apparent natural causes at his home in the 2100 block of W. Ogden Street, San Bernardino. Valenzuela is believed to have a daughter, Xochitl Valenzuela, living in Compton, California. Anyone with information is asked to call The Coroner’s Division at (909) 387-2978. [112906 2227 EM]

    5. Coroner case 06-8806 ML: Back on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 1:12 PM, a gardener clearing brush behind a business in the 1300 block of E. D Street saw a body near the back fence of the property and contacted the Ontario Police Department. Officers responded to the scene and confirmed the presence of a dead male adult with upper body trauma. The Ontario Police Department Homicide Detail is investigating the circumstances of the death. UPDATE (11/22/06): All attempts to identify the decedent have been unsuccessful and he has been designated John Doe #36-06. The body is described as being that of a Hispanic male, appearing to be in his late teens to twenties, 5’4”, 113 lbs, with short black hair. He had multiple tattoos, including the following: A sunburst design with a heart in the middle to the upper right chest, a mask (clown?) to the upper left arm, "Mikdalia" to the left forearm, and a skull and crossed bones to the upper right arm. One finger on his left hand had been amputated at the knuckle. Some people in the area knew him as “Marco Antonio Aguello Perez,” possibly from Chiapas.
