The Communicable Disease Section (CDS) works together with San Bernardino County residents, health care providers, schools, businesses and others to keep the county healthy and safe from communicable disease. CDS performs disease surveillance and control measures, along with educational activities designed to reduce or manage the incidence of infectious disease that is consistent with California law. CDS also features a wide-range of personalized services including working directly with residents who have communicable disease conditions and referring them to health care and working with schools and health care providers to maximize immunization coverage for all ages. CDS staff is an excellent resource for most reportable diseases, including tuberculosis and vaccine preventable diseases.
