Letter from the Recruiter

Dear Prospective Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the San Bernardino County Probation Department. Our department offers a variety of positions and maintains high expectations for our employees, resulting in a professional atmosphere. We are confident you will find that San Bernardino County is both a great place to work and live.

The San Bernardino County Probation Department is comprised of two bureaus: Community Corrections and Detention Corrections. The Community Corrections Bureau (CCB) predominantly works in the community supervising probationers with many programs tailored to the probationer's specific needs. The Detention Corrections Bureau (DCB) works in our detention and treatment facilities. Our Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center (JDAC) facilities are located in San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Apple Valley. There are a variety of opportunities for assignment and advancement in either bureau of this department.

The San Bernardino County Probation Department will periodically accept applications for Probation Corrections Officer (Trainee or Full Time), Probation Officer, Probation Nurses, and Probation Cooks. If you meet the requirements to apply for Probation Officer, also consider applying for Probation Corrections Officer or PCO Trainee as well. There are periodically openings to fill in the PCO classification and this would be a great start to your career with Probation.
