The Lake Gregory Dog Park was a community idea by Mrs. Doe Huff in late 2006.  Through the support of Supervisor Paul Biane the Regional Parks Department was able to design and construct the Dog Park which will open June 13, 2009.

The Dog Park is along the south shore of Lake Gregory is approximately a half acre and open to dogs of all sizes.

	Why is there no grass?  Three factors make grass difficult to sustain:  short growing season; extra shady north facing location and high nitrogen in dog urine burns grass.
	How can County afford to build the Dog Park at a time it is closing the park two days a week?  The funding for the project was capital funding, not allocated for operations.
	Does Crestline drinking water come out of Lake Gregory? No
	Was an Environmental Impact Report completed for the Dog Park?  No, the California Environmental Quality Act only required a Categorical Exemption.
	Are there rules for the Dog Park?  Yes, rules are posted at the entrance of the Dog Park.

It is through the support of Supervisor Paul Biane and the efforts of Mrs. Doe Huff and the donors that this new amenity at Lake Gregory Regional Park is open to the community and their dogs.
