Story Time at Victor Valley Museum
Families with youngsters are invited to a special Discovery Afternoon, “Miss Kathy's story time,” at the Victor Valley Museum on Saturday afternoon, October 13, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m."
Hear and see some of the beautiful picture books with a nature and animals theme from the Grant Lamson Collection in the museum’s reading room. Watch puppet theater, hold a puppet friend, and create a puppet to take home for story time at your own house.
“Reading books is such fun, but having special books read to you and interacting with hand-puppets is a real treat,” said Michele Nielsen, the museum’s curator of history. “Children and families will enjoy stories, and then have the chance to create their own special clay or fabric puppets to take home, too. Come join the fun!”
Miss Kathy’s Story Time is also scheduled for November 10 with a theme of families, and December 1 with a history theme.
The Victor Valley Museum is a branch of the San Bernardino County Museum located at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 (adult), $4 (senior or military), and $2.50 (student). Children under 5 and San Bernardino County Museum Association members are free. Parking is free. Admission is half-price during Discovery Afternoon programs.
