The San Bernardino County Museum Association will host “Forest Falls Frolic,” a day trip to Mill Creek Canyon, on Friday, September 25. This field trip, led by Curator of History Michele Nielsen, is designed for adults and youth age 12 and above. The cost of $60 per person ($50 for Museum Association members) includes morning coffee, lunch, transportation, and handouts. Registration is now open.
“We will spend the day romping in our cool local mountains,” said Nielsen. “Imagine the sweet smell of pines, the sound of water at the falls, and the adventure of architectural and historic sleuthing in the vacation spot for inland Southern California at the turn of the last century.”
Participants will meet at the museum at 8:30am for coffee and a brief overview of the trip. There will be a lot of walking, so participants should wear sturdy shoes, and bring a light jacket, sunscreen, and a camera. Expected return time is 4:00pm. Space is limited and pre-paid reservations are required by Monday, September 21.
To register, call (909) 307-2669 ext. 250, or print the registration form on line at www.sbcountymuseum.org. “Forest Falls Frolic” is one of a series of field trips organized by the San Bernardino County Museum Association that offer the opportunity to learn about our region’s cultural and natural history accompanied by a museum curator.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. For more information, visit
