On Wednesday, June 24, Dr. Luis Chiappe will present a guest lecture, “Glorified Dinosaurs,” at the San Bernardino County Museum. This presentation will be at 7:30pm, and is free to public.
Within the last few years it has been established that birds evolved from dinosaurs. Chiappe, the author of “Glorified Dinosaurs: The Origin and Early Evolution of Birds,” will provide a comprehensive summary of these discoveries and address the topic of how modern birds evolved from fearsome dinosaurs akin to the celebrated Velociraptor.
Dr. Luis M. Chiappe is Director of Dinosaur Institute and Curator of the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. He has conducted extensive research on the evolution of dinosaurs, particularly the origin and early evolution of birds, and is considered a world authority in the field of early bird evolution.
This program is part of a series of guest lectures offered at no charge by the county museum. The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. Parking is free. For more information, visit
