Join Museum Director Robert McKernan on Saturday, October 11 at the San Bernardino County Museum as he discusses the importance of museum collections. This presentation will be at 2pm, and is free with museum admission.



The county museum cares for more than 1 million objects in its permanent collections. Specimens and artifacts range from a steam locomotive to fossil mouse teeth. “The cultural and natural heritage of our region is represented by our collections,” said McKernan. “Each object has a powerful story to tell, and each represents authentic evidence of our region’s past, present, and even future. The more we all can learn about our past, the better we can make informed and sensitive decisions about the future.”



The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $6 (adult), $5 (student or senior), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free.
