Volunteer Opportunities at the County Museum Sept. 5-8
9/5/2007 - Volunteer Opportunities at the County Museum Sept. 5-8
The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum is calling for volunteers to participate in an exciting program for museum visitors this fall and winter called 1880s at Work and Play! Prospective volunteers are invited to attend an orientation session on Wednesday, September 5, Thursday, September 6, Friday, September 7, or Saturday, September 8, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
In 1880s at Work and Play! museum visitors will get a chance to experience life in the 1880s when they wash clothes on a washboard and tub, beat a rug, use an old-fashioned hand-operated drill, and even make a whirly-gig or button on a string to take home. This program is only offered on selected weekday mornings from September to February, 2008.
To prepare for this program, new volunteers will attend one or two training sessions that will be held in the Education Center. Training dates are Wednesday, September 12, Thursday, September 13, Friday, September 14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, or Saturday, September 15, from 2:00 to 4:00p.m.
