Friday Morning Walks at Agua Mansa
The public is invited to join in the inaugural walk of the Friday Morning Walking Group at Agua Mansa Pioneer Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23. The one-hour walk will continue every Friday morning thereafter.
Walkers will enjoy comfortable exercise as they tread a quarter-mile loop with gradual slopes around the historic cemetery, which is a historic site of the San Bernardino County Museum. Join Curator of History Michele Nielsen on the March 23 walk for a history stroll and learn more about the cemetery and the historic communities of Agua Mansa and La Placita that it served. On Friday, March 30, Museum Director Robert McKernan will join the group and introduce birds of the Agua Mansa area, today and yesterday.
The walks are organized by the museum’s history division. Participation in the Friday Morning Walking Group is free.
“Mornings at Agua Mansa are peaceful and relaxing,” said Nielsen. “It’s so easy to tune out the everyday hustle and bustle and step back in time as you step out for a healthy bit of exercise.”
Agua Mansa Pioneer Cemetery is located at 2001 Agua Mansa Road in Colton. No advance reservations are necessary to join the walking group. For more information, call (909) 307-2669 or visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.
