Museum to Host Open House for Educators
The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum will host an open house for teachers and educators on Saturday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission for teachers is free.
Museum education programs will be showcased during the Open House. A variety of programs will be demonstrated and reviewed, including the Loan Program, Museum on the Road, and field trip activities. Educators will also see a preview of the museum’s upcoming exhibit, “Salton Sea: lost lakes and salt dreams.” A drawing will be held for educational prizes including classroom posters, curriculum guides, and a family membership in the Museum Association.
“Our open house is for teachers in the broad sense,” explained Jolene Redvale, museum curator of education. “We welcome credentialed teachers, student teachers, students who are studying education at college, and of course home-school teachers. The open house is an opportunity to become familiar with the resources that the museum offers for educators. Just show school identification for free admission for a teacher and a guest.”
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 (adult), $5 (student or senior), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.
