Open House for Educators at County Museum
The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum will
host an Educator Open House on Saturday, September 18 from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. The open house is free for educators, interns,
and pre-service teachers.
“We invite all educators to experience the programs that
the museum has available for schools,” said Jolene Redvale,
Curator of Education. “Field trips, the loan program, Museum
on the Road, and teacher workshops are just some of the resources
the museum offers.”
New learning kits, gallery cart talks, and professional development
workshops will also be showcased during the open house. Educators
can tour the permanent exhibits, the museum gardens, and the Exploration
Station and learn how museum exhibits and programs can support
State Standards in a variety of curricula.
No reservations are necessary for the Open House. Each teacher
and his or her guest will be admitted free. Teachers will also
receive a special discount on learning tools and merchandise from
the Museum Store.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street
exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. General admission is $6 (adult),
$5 (senior or student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under
5 and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is
free, and the facility is handicapped-accessible. The museum’s
Garden Café will be open for lunch and snacks between 11
a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org
