LEARNING STYLES ADDRESSED IN THIS SERIES INCLUDE:
Visual-spatial – The kit contains many visual features including Many facet images (photographs) are included. Students may draw the specimens. Coloring pages are included.
Verbal-linguistic – Shared orally or in written format, background information provides much detail regarding the environment and the species found within.
Physical-kinesthetic – When learning centers are utilized, student movement will direct their attention to the contents. Younger students may mimic animal movement. Sorry, handling the specimens is discouraged.
Logical-mathematical – From ordering and counting species in lower grades to researching species (endangered species site http://www.fws.gov/endangered ) and examining food chains and webs, this material appeals to this learning group.
Auditory-musical – playing mood-enhancing tapes (educator-obtained) of outdoor sounds found in the environments may focus these learners. Students may also try to imitate animal sounds.
Interpersonal – Learners can share knowledge with members of their groups
Solitary – Especially when used in learning centers, the intrapersonal learner can gain knowledge through self-study.
