Resources San Bernardino County Library has
joined with the Riverside County Library, Murietta Public Library, Moreno
Valley Public Library and College of the Desert to create a combined online
catalog. As result, over two million residents of Riverside and San
Bernardino Counties are now able to access and request (free of charge) all the
books, videos, CDs, DVDs, audio books, e-books, etc. through a unified catalog
and delivery system known as iBistro TM.
Library borrowers now
have convenient access to over 2.3 million materials. The Catalog can also be
accessed in any branch library and from your home, office or school and has a
Spanish interface.
On-line Public Access Catalog. All you need is a free library card
issued from any of the consortium libraries. Materials can be conveniently
picked up any of the member’s more than 60 library locations.
Each of our 30 branch libraries also maintains a collection of reference
materials designed to meet the needs of the local community. In addition to
local materials, library staff have access to additional extensive collections
of reference resources in all formats, from print to tangible electronic
products (such as CD-ROMs) and on-line databases.
Services Borrowing
PrivilegesTo borrow library materials you must obtain a library card
by completing a brief
application and providing current identification at your local branch library. The card is
valid for three years and can be used at all 30 branches. Most books and other
materials circulate for 21 days. Items can usually be renewed for one
additional loan period if the item has not been reserved. Loan periods for
videos and DVDs vary from one to three days. Borrowed library materials may be
renewed at any branch library, or by logging onto our
On-Line Public Access Catalog.
Use the toll-free number 888-388-0664 with any touchtone phone to renew your library materials,
as well as retrieving information on overdue materials, fines owed and the
status of requested material. You will need your library card number and PIN
(usually the last four digits of your phone number) to use this service.
Patrons are responsible for the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials.
It is very important to report a lost or stolen card immediately, as you are
responsible for items borrowed on the card until its loss is reported. Remember
to also report any changes in your address, phone number or name as soon as
possible.
