MISSION

The mission of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office is to oversee the County's adherence to a policy of equal opportunity for all in employment, training, promotion, retention, and benefits, consistent with federal and state regulations and Board Policy, to positively impact County Employees' quality of work life and customer service provided to the general public.

WHAT WE DO

The functions of the EEO Office include the following:

	·	Investigate complaints of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation
	·	Resolve internal complaints and issue reports and recommendations
	·	Coordinate the preparation of County responses to EEOC charges and DFEH notices of complaint, and coordinate the investigation efforts of these agencies
	·	Conduct analyses of demographic trends in employee populations, and prepare the County's EEO Plan
	·	Provide technical assistance for ADA accommodation requests, and coordinate or facilitate the interactive process with employees and their departments
	·	Provide training and technical assistance to department EEO representatives, and orient supervisors and employees to their EEO rights and obligations
	·	Assist management with EEO and disability compliance issues
