![]() Green County Bags are now Available In step with overall Green County efforts, the County of San Bernardino is Reusable Bags According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, more than 500 billion plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year. These bags often end up as litter on our freeways and in our neighborhoods. Less than 1% of the bags are recycled. To top it off, plastic bags are made from petroleum, a valuable natural resource. Fortunately, you can make a difference by using reusable bags. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors launched the Green County reusable bag awareness campaign in February 2008, distributing more than 30,000 Green County reusable bags and informational brochures to race fans at the Auto Club Speedway, County employees, and members of the public. To become a part of this effort, buy your Green County reusable bag today at the San Bernardino County Museum at 2024 Orange Tree Lane in Redlands. The durable, reusable and recyclable bags cost $1.25 each and can be used for hundreds of shopping trips. For more information contact the Museum at 909-307-2669 ext 249. The Dangers of Plastic Bags |
