![]() ![]() The Facilities Management Department has made a commitment to further reduce the County’s carbon footprint through water-efficient landscaping. Facilities decided it was best to start at ground zero and completely redo the landscaping in its own front yard. The end result is a beautiful demonstration garden that features California Native and California Friendly plants, a drip irrigation system, and sections of various types of drought tolerant turf. Facilities’ estimates savings of more than one million gallons of water per year with its new water-efficient landscape! Facilities plans to incorporate these water-efficient features on all new County landscape projects. California Friendly Landscaping Project Updates
