The Sheriff’s Barstow station landscape was revamped to be a more water-efficient site thanks to the County’s Facilities Management Department. Facilities removed approximately 10,000 sq ft of turf and replaced it with a variety of California friendly plants, suitable for the Barstow area. The sprinkler system was upgraded to drip irrigation, providing water directly to the plants, eliminating water run-off and saving thousands of gallons of water a year.
