While serving in the area of law enforcement, Gene Reed brings to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department past experience from Signal Hills Police Department and Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, before joining the staff at EVOC.

Gene acquired his teaching instruction in the field of Regional Occupational Program (ROP), Public Safety III instructor and an academy staff member with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.  He has furthered taught in areas of CPR and Advanced First Aid Water Safety.

Gene currently trains in the area of Advanced Officer training, Weaponless Defense, Side Handle Baton (PR-24), EVOC Emergency Service Detail, Rescue-ROP Public Safety III at La Puente.  He has obtained his education through California State University, Long Beach, Long Beach City College, East Los Angeles City College, Harbor Jr. College in the area of Police Science and teaching.
