The Network for a Healthy California—Children’s
Power Play! Campaign
has developed a research-
based educator-friendly School Idea & Resource
Kit
for 4th and 5th grade teachers to use in the
classroom. You can help kids lead healthier lives
by developing their knowledge, skills, and motivation. The School Idea & Resource Kits for fourth and fifth grades each offer 10 interactive nutrition and physical activity lessons in English and Spanish free of cost to qualifying schools*. The lessons have direct links to the California Content Standards for Math and Language Arts as well as the newly adopted California Health Education Standards.

You can enhance your Idea & Resource Kit lessons by promoting specific fruits and vegetables each month through Harvest of the Month
We can help you reinforce the nutrition and physical activity messages with posters for your school and items to reward and motivate your students such as posters, flying disks and jump ropes.
If other grade levels in your school would like to incorporate nutrition into their classrooms, we can connect you with kindergarten through third grade materials produced by our partners.

Conduct an outdoor Nutrition Decathlon event at your school site. Contact your regional Children's Power Play! Campaign Coordinator to find out how.
