Collaboration
About
The Youth and Family Wellness Committee of the
Desert Sierra Health Network is comprised of a
strong group of individuals and organizations in Inyo,
Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, from various sectors of the community, who are dedicated to combating childhood overweight and obesity. The committee provides opportunities to network, share resources, learn about current childhood overweight issues and to become engaged in prevention efforts.
Mission
We passionately promote youth and family wellness through community empowerment, education, and resource referrals to combat obesity and encourage lifelong health.Â
Current Project:
CHOICE – Committing to
Healthy Options In Community Environments is an initiative of
the Youth & Family Wellness Committee. We aim to encourage organizations working with youth
and their families to adopt a
Healthy Food and Physical
Activity Options Initiative.
Upcoming Meetings:
If you would like to get more involved with issues dealing with nutrition and physical activity and the impact on youth and their families in the Desert Sierra Region, please join us for our Youth & Family Wellness Committee Meetings.
