Project LEAN and San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Nutrition Program coordinated a community campaign that was designed to promote the consumption of one more serving of vegetables among Latino women with children attending schools in the San Bernardino Unified School District. The message “For better health, eat one more portion of vegetables every day” is disseminated through these nutrition and vegetable gardening lesson plans. By educating Latino women, who typically purchase and prepare food for their households, the campaign aims to reach entire families and the Latino community. The lesson plans included in the Resource Idea Kit are aimed at increasing vegetable
consumption among the entire family. |
