Chocolate Sheet Cake -
Taste Testing Evaluation
Ingredients:
RECIPE

All purpose flour
Granulated sugar
Baking soda
Grade A Large egg whites
Unsweetened applesauce
Canola oil
Margarine (melted)
Unsweetened cocoa
Water
1% Buttermilk
Vanilla extract
AMOUNT

2 cups
1 1/2 cups
1 tsp.
3 each
3/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
1 cup
1/2 cup
1 tsp.
Cooking Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a medium pan, heat applesauce, canola oil, margarine, cocoa and water over
medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, egg whites, buttermilk, and
vanilla. Mix well. The mixture will be sticky.
4. Slowly pour heat mixture into bowl with a flour mixture while stirring. Mixture will
appear soupy.
5. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan by oiling it down with 1/4 tsp. canola oil and lightly
flour pan.
6. Pour cake mixture into pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
