Master Plans of Drainage and Comprehensive Storm Drain Plans

Since the Flood Control District is so large and many of the drainage issues are more localized Master Plans of Drainage (MPD) and/or Comprehensive Storm Drain Plans (CSDP) are created to evaluate the existing drainage systems, identify deficiencies and recommend improvements and new facilities in an area.

Hydrology calculations of all MPDs and CSDPs prepared and/or approved prior to 1986 need to be updated to reflect the current version of the Hydrology Manual. Updates will be performed by the District based on availability of time and budget. Use of pre-1986 hydrology information is at your own risk.

The desert areas also have new requirements per a hydrology manual update. Please see
Water Resources Division site.
