The Computer Services Division is dedicated to the strategic alignment of Information Technology with the goals and objectives of the Department of Public Works and to providing the best in Information Technology products and services.
With oversight by the Business Applications Manager, the division is organized into two functional units; the Business Systems section and the Systems Support section. The two units work with department staff, the Information Services Department (ISD), outside consultants and vendors to provide for a diversity of automated Civil Engineering and automated Office systems.

Business Systems
The Business Systems section is responsible for supporting all application programs within the department including requirements definition, development, testing, implementation and ongoing support. These functions can be completed in-house, through ISD, utilizing private consultants or through dedicated application vendors.
Systems Support
The Systems Support section is responsible for all domain wide servers and network infrastructure. This includes support of 18 Servers, the Local Area Network (LAN), and all primary and secondary sites. This section is responsible for all hardware and software purchases and oversees the Helpdesk which completes over 400 service calls per month. |
