Online food worker training and assessment now being offered in 5 languages

On September 1st, 2011, County of San Bernardino, Environmental Health Services started to offer a food worker training course and assessment exclusively online. We are happy to announce that our food worker training course and assessment are now available in 5 languages – English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Korean. By offering two additional languages, Vietnamese and Korean, we will be able to successfully train and assess a diverse community in a language that they may feel more comfortable learning in. We hope to successfully educate diverse communities which will allow them to safely prepare culturally specific foods for the residents of San Bernardino County.

As a reminder, although there are several food worker card certification options available to the public, workers in food facilities in San Bernardino County are required to obtain their food worker card only from San Bernardino County, Environmental Health Services within 14 days of employment. Our online training course can be found at: www.sbcounty.gov/dehs , by clicking on the “Food Worker Training” link, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
