bullet Inspect apartments, motels/hotels,
mobile home parks, camps, detention
facilities, massage clinics, tattoo clinics,
and bed and breakfasts for possible
environmental health hazards
bullet Respond to complaints of environmentally-
unsafe and substandard multifamily and
transient dwellings
bullet Authorize multifamily housing rehabilitation
or demolition
bullet Work with neighborhood leaders to remove substandard multifamily structures that are hazardous to the community

"California Tenants: a guide to residential tenants' and landlords' rights and
responsibilities" that is available on their website.
