ARMC Free Screening and Stroke Assessment Event on May 3 ARMC Free Screening and Stroke Assessment Event on May 3
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center will be hosting a free Screening and Stroke Assessment Event on Saturday, May 3, in ARMC's Outpatient Care Center lobby.
Participants will be given an assessment by a health care professional of their risk for stroke using screening results.
The event begins at 10 a.m.
Stroke is the fourth-leading cause of death in the United States. Learn what you can do to lower your risk of stroke and how to recognize the warning signs. Screenings will include height, weight, blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar and cholesterol; nutrition counseling and diabetes education will also be provided. (Due to time constraints, only the first 200 attendees will be screened.)
No babysitting services will be provided.
ARMC is located at 400 North Pepper Avenue, just north of Interstate 10 in Colton. For more information, call 909-580-6185.

Interested in helping Seniors? Veterans? Children? Families? Animals?
On May 8, 2014, you'll get your chance during the 24-hour Give BIG San Bernardino County fund-raising web-a-thon.
The County, in partnership with The Community Foundation, encourages you to help us reach a goal of $300,000 in new donations for local nonprofits on May 8.  You can donate to your favorite or a new nonprofit at on May 8th or schedule a donation now. The Give BIG campaign follows a growing nationwide trend of 24-hour online and technology-based fundraising efforts.
Give BIG San Bernardino County offers participating nonprofit organizations training on how to use social media, marketing, donor cultivation, and more in the lead-up to the web-a-thon. The hope is that the event will provide an opportunity for nonprofit organizations in the county to become self-sustaining entities through a stable donor base with less reliance on grant funding. Participants will learn to fine-tune their fundraising capabilities and benefit those they serve. Give BIG San Bernardino County is the first countywide campaign supporting organizations that help those most in need. Your donation is tax deductible!
