Conditional Release Program (CONREP)
The Conditional Release Program provides intensive mental health services and community monitoring only to individuals referred by the Superior Court and/or the Board of Prison Terms. Most of these individuals have been found to be not guilty by reason of insanity, incompetent to stand trial, or to be mentally disordered offenders. Services include a variety of assessments, home visits, collateral contacts, drug testing, intensive case management, placement, day treatment, group therapy and individual psychotherapy. Services are closely monitored by the State Department of Mental Health and the Superior Court.
Barstow Mental Health Court Services (STAR)
The STAR Program is the treatment component of the Mental Health Court system of care. Individuals are generally referred while incarcerated in a county detention facility. Upon acceptance of terms and conditions of probation requiring mental health treatment, the individuals are released into the community and closely monitored by the STAR treatment team. Services include day treatment, intensive case management, residential placement, drug and alcohol treatment and periodic court reviews. Services are closely monitored by the Superior Court.
Jail Mental Health Services (JMHS)
Jail Mental Health Services provides mental health services to individuals who are incarcerated in the San Bernardino County Detention Center facilities (West Valley (WVDC), Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center (GHRC), and Adelanto (ADC).
