Brown Bag Luncheon

October 2010

Over thirty employees gathered for lunch last month during Rideshare Week to hear an enlightening presentation on highway safety while commuting. The special guest speaker was California Highway Patrol Officer Daniel Hesser.

After presenting a collage of public service announcements on traffic accidents, Officer Hesser provided a refresher course on common road violations and driving mistakes. One of the many points highlighted in the presentation was the fact that the number one cause of traffic accidents is following too closely behind the vehicle in front of you. Other topics included: complacent driving, the proper use of child safety seats and seat belts, driving while using cell phones and texting, and teen drivers.

Commuter Services hosts Brown Bag Luncheons throughout the year to provide an opportunity for employees to learn about the benefits of ridesharing and other topics related to commuting to work.

Over 30 employees brought their lunch and learned about this latest SANBAG venture. Dessert and beverages were provided by Commuter Services.
