Mission Statement

In support of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors,
and in service to the public and fellow county staff,
the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors:
prepares and maintains records of actions taken by the Board of Supervisors;
oversees membership of the County's boards, commissions and committees;
licenses businesses operating in the County unincorporated areas;
facilitates the filing and hearing of appeals of assessed property valuations.

Our service priorities are timeliness and accuracy.
Our service commitments are courtesy and respect.

Clerk of the Board Overview

The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors is the official repository of County records and provides administrative support to the Board of Supervisors, the Assessment Appeals Board and Hearing Officers and the governing boards of designated districts and authorities. We also provide a variety of other services, on behalf of the County Board of Supervisors. Our major service areas are as follows:

Board Services Prepares and publishes agendas for Board of Supervisors (BOS) and other authorities in accordance with legal requirements for public meetings; records and publishes actions taken by the BOS; processes legal publications, postings and notices; administers oaths of office for various county officials; responds to requests for information and materials.
Assessment Appeals Receives and processes assessment appeal applications; schedules and publishes hearings in accordance with legal requirements; maintains minutes and official records; provides administrative support and training to Assessment Appeal Board members and Hearing Officers; and provides assistance to the general public on the assessment appeals process.
Boards and Commissions Maintains official rosters of Boards, Commissions and Committees; post vacancies; coordinates sunset reviews; administers oaths of office to members of boards and commissions.
Business Licenses Receives, processes, tracks and issues new and renewal licenses for designated businesses operating in the county unincorporated areas.
County Code/Charter Maintains current and historical records of the County Code and Charter.
Conflict of Interest Acts as filing officer/official for Statement of Economic Interest for designated county officials and employees, members of county boards and commissions and designated officials from other local jurisdictions.
Claims and Complaints Receives and processes claims, summons and complaints against the County.
Environmental Notices Receives, posts and processes environmental notices
