The Fifth District encompasses
nearly 95 square miles and includes the County's
largest metropolitan area.
The 164,000-plus population of the
City of San Bernardino makes it the District's largest
city. Portions
of the cities of Colton, Fontana, Highland, and Rialto
along with the unincorporated communities of
Bloomington, El Rancho Verde, and Muscoy compose the
balance of the Fifth District. |
The Fifth District is home to San
Bernardino International Airport and the proposed
WorldPoint International Trade Center which are located
on the site of the former Norton Air Force Base.
It is also home to the Inland
Valley Development Agency which is overseeing the former
base conversion to commercial use.
IVDA is charged with creating jobs and is
achieving much success in this area. |
