When: Friday, May 24, 2019   2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Black Infant Health (BIH) program is a FREE prenatal program for African American women designed to decrease health and social inequities for women and infants.

African American women are twice as likely as all other races to experience an infant death and face increased risk of preterm birth and maternal mortality.

The BIH program consists of 10 prenatal sessions. Each weekly session highlights a different health related topic. Participants who attend seven of the 10 prenatal sessions will earn a baby bouncer.

Eligibility requirements:

- African American woman

- 30 weeks or less pregnant

- 18 years or older

- San Bernardino County resident

A woman who participates in the BIH program can expect to learn health information, increase empowerment, develop advocacy skills, learn stress management tools, and develop a sisterhood with other pregnant women.

The BIH program is interactive, offers raffles, and provides free transportation to women living in San Bernardino city and surrounding areas.
