Center's Run or Walk to Better Health Community 5K. Over
300 residents participated in the event. Special thanks
to the City of Colton, 24 Hour Fitness, Katz Outdoor
Fitness and all of the staff and volunteers who made
this event a success. |

Supervisor Gonzales attended the "Her
Story Luncheon" sponsored by the San Bernardino County
Commission on the Status of Women. The Commission
honored three women for their outstanding contributions
to the community. Clara Franklin from Arrowhead Farms
Neighborhood Association, Esther Jimenez, City of San
Bernardino Civil Service Commission, and Dr. Nena
Torrez, Author and Professor of Education at Cal State
San Bernardino. |

Supervisor Gonzales attended the Hispanic Employee Alliance “Cinco de Mayo Celebration” on May 3rd. Speakers included HEA President Lynn Chacon, CAO Mark Uffer and keynote Speaker Gloria Macias Harrison, President of Crafton Hills College.

Community Clean Up on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Special
thanks to Code Enforcement, Burrtec Industries, Pacific
Recycling, E-Cyclers and everyone who participated in
the event. A total of 154 tons of waste was removed from
the community.

Supervisor Gonzales and Supervisor
Hansberger co-sponsored the "Grant Writing and Resource
Workshop" on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. The workshop
provided free grant writing resources to local
non-profit groups and community based organizations.

"I did IT on campus," said Supervisor
Gonzales. She, along with Fontana City Councilmember
Acquanetta Warren, cast her vote for the 2007 election
on October 24th at the California State University San
Bernardino early voting polls. Dr. Rivera, associate
dean for Educational Support Programs, San Bernardino
County Registrar of Voters Kari Verjil, the county Chief
Deputy Registrar of Voters Terry Kouba and the CSUSB
student leaders launched the Early Voter Program at
CSUSB to encourage the university students to vote. The
students gave the Supervisor a specially designed
t-shirt in appreciation of her support for their
program. . |
Supervisor Gonzales participated in the San
Bernardino Valley Rider's 2nd Annual Western Days on
Saturday, October 14th, 2006. Special thanks to
all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make this
event a success in serving children with disabilities. |
