Gary Ovitt is the Fourth District Supervisor. The Fourth District includes the cities
of Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario and a portion of Upland. The district
encompasses 133 square miles and is home to over 400,000 residents.
Gary is a former Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, past President of the Southern
California Association of Governments (SCAG) and former Chairman and current Board
Member of the San Bernardino County Associated Governments (SANBAG), the transportation
planning authority for the County. He previously served as the County representative
on the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).
Gary also serves on a number of other Boards and Commissions including the Inland
Empire Health Partnership (IEHP) where he serves as Chairman, California State Association
of Counties (CSAC) and the National Association of Counties (NACO) among others.
As a lifelong educator, having served 35 years as a teacher and coach, Gary serves
as Chairman of the Head Start program for San Bernardino County and is involved
in the County Schools Alliance for Education Partnership.
Supervisor Ovitt and his wife Sue have a daughter, Amanda, who graduated from the
nursing program at Azusa Pacific University.
