Barstow Fossil Beds-It's About Time

Senior Curator Kathleen Springer and Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott. Meet at the Victor Valley Museum in Apple Valley at 7:45 a.m. for an 8 a.m. departure. See the Mojave Desert as it appeared millions of years ago. The world-famous Barstow Fossil Beds contain fossils of giant carnivorous "bear-dogs", sabre-toothed cats, three-toed horses, and several kinds of camels. The cost of $70 per person ($60 for a Museum Association member) includes transportation, lunch, water, and light snacks. The trip includes hiking over steep, uneven terrain. Reserve with payment by April 19.
