ASSISTANCE LIMITATION The Recorder's Office is not staffed to perform searches for you. These are public records and you are welcome to perform the search yourself. You may wish to seek the services of a title company to do the search for you. HOW TO SEARCH FOR LIENS To "Search for Liens" against real property, the researcher must know two facts: Owner of property Approximate date of Lien All liens are indexed against owner's or defendant's name, alphabetically by date and are situated in the Grantor indices in this office. If the name you are searching is not found in the indices you are looking at, then no lien was recorded in that year and continue on to another year. Beginning in July 1972, the owner's or defendant's name is indicated by an asterisk. If you do not have the owner's name, it can be obtained from the information counter. You will need to give them a Parcel Number or Legal Description of the Property.
