Occasionally, ACO's may respond to educational requests. They may be involved in training personnel at county schools, sheriff's departments, police departments, etc. on the correct way to use a control stick or bait a trap. Officer’s may also be asked to speak about the best way to avoid dog bites. Sometimes they participate in career days at schools where they share their experiences as an Animal Care & Control Officer.
Animal Control Officer's also allow members of the public to ride-along with them in an Animal Control truck. This makes for a real eye-opening experience! Strict rules must be followed.
All after-hour calls are referred to an answering service. A supervisor is paged and determines the appropriate course of action.

 |
Looking into all alleged cases of cruelty
and the inhumane treatment of animals. |
