Ribbons and Beads
The Bedazzled Beaders Society will present a workshop, "Ribbon
Beaded Amulet," on Saturday, June 12 between 2 and 5 p.m.
at the San Bernardino County Museum. The workshop, led by Mary
Gould-deMong, is designed for adults; no previous experience with
beading is necessary.
All necessary materials will be available at the workshop for
$8.00, but participants are urged to call Gould-deMong at (909)883-3321
to assure that each materials kit can be custom assembled for
them.
Mary Gould-deMong, of San Bernardino, has been beading for twenty
years. Her other interests include sewing, quilting, and crafting.
"I have studied with a variety of teachers," she explained,
"but most of my inspiration comes from fellow beaders."
The Bedazzled Beaders Society is affiliated with the museum's
Western Textile Center Association. This workshop is presented
as one of a series of activities by WTCA groups to introduce the
public to fiber arts. Workshop participants will have the opportunity
to donate a $10 registration fee to the WTCA to help support fiber
arts programming.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street
exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays
through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $6
(adult), $5 (senior or student) and $4 (child aged 5-12). Children
under 5 and members of the Museum Association are admitted free.
Parking is free, and the facility is handicapped-accessible. The
museum's Garden Café will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
for lunch, snacks, and beverages. For more information, visit
www.sbcountymuseum.org or call (909) 307-2669 / TDD/TTY: (909) 792-1462.
