During the “State of the County” presentation earlier this month, we highlighted some of the great things going on in the region. On the economic front, San Bernardino County has outpaced the rest of the state in employment since 2013. Employment has grown by 3.69% and the average wage has jumped by 2.7% year over year. Inc. Magazine recently ranked the Inland Empire No. 14 in the nation for net business creation and No. 16 nationally for job creation and wage growth. Inc. Magazine also gave the region high marks for innovation.

At the “State of the County” we highlighted some of these innovative companies. One firm, reRubber breaks down used tires into reusable raw materials for new products such as water-based protective coatings and rubber parts. Another local innovator is Connect Homes, which uses a patented pre-fabricated system that allows the company’s building modules to be cost-effectively shipped like shipping containers on trucks and trains nationwide. Using an assembly-line process, Connect Homes can build a new home in just three weeks. To view the “State of the County” presentation, click on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae6uRZ4eP4c
