About Larry Walker

Larry Walker has served as San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller since December, 1998, following his election in June 1998. He was re-elected in 2002 and 2006. In 2010, he was elected to the newly created position of Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector and was re-elected in 2014. Walker also served as County Recorder and County Clerk from 1998 to 2011.

As County Treasurer, Walker is an ex officio member of the Board of Trustees of the San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association (SBCERA), where he served in the interim role of Managing Trustee of SBCERA from October 2010 to July 2011.

As Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector, Walker is continuing his efforts to streamline and strengthen San Bernardino County financial processes in order to achieve greater efficiencies and improve the overall customer experience for citizens who depend on the County for services.

Larry Walker was elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in 1986, 1990 and 1994, and served as Chair of the Board from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, Walker served as elected Mayor of Chino from 1980 to 1986, and as a City Council member from 1978 to 1980.

Mr. Walker served as a member and Chair of the Metrolink Board of Directors and was the Founding Chair of Metrolink's standing Audit Committee. He was a member and President of the boards of both Omnitrans (the local transit agency) and San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG-the County Transportation Commission). He is also the Founding Chair of the California Electronic Recording Transactions Network Authority (CERTNA).

The Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector is a graduate of UC Irvine, and of the UCLA School of Law. He also completed a course of study in accounting at CSU San Bernardino, and passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam. Mr. Walker is both an accountant and an attorney, with professional experience in real estate transactions and litigation. He is a former licensed real estate broker.

Larry, his wife Carri, and their sons Mac, Will, and Ty, live and raise sheep on their ranch in Chino.
