Search and/or Obtain Public Official Record Copies
The most common recorded documents are Deeds, Deeds of Trust, Deeds of Reconveyance,
Assignments of a Deed of Trust and Liens. Documents are indexed with a document
number, a document date, a document title, and the parties to the transaction (referred
to as "grantors" and "grantees"). The Recorder-County Clerk
does not have the names
of property ownership by address. To search for property ownership in San Bernardino

Please note this is an index only and you will not be able to view the actual
document image (per Government Code Section 6254.21). You will be able to identify
documents of interest for further research or to order a copy. Viewing document
contents may only be performed by visiting the San Bernardino Recorder's Office
main location. Note: The Recorder's Office staff does not perform any searches over
the telephone.

Documents recorded
prior to 1974
Searches for documents recorded prior to 1974 are performed using the Recorder's
index on microfilm (we are in the process of converting electronically back to 1950).
You will need to go in person to the Recorder's Records Research section for further
assistance. Public Service Counter Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
excluding 2013 Holiday Schedule.

ORDERING COPIES
Public official record copies may be obtained either by written mail request or
in person.
The fee for each photocopy of a document is:
$12.00 - First page (non-certified)
$ 2.00 - Each additional page (per document)
$ 4.00 - Certification first page
$ 1.00 - Certification each additional page

Complete an application and
mail with a check or money order made payable to "San Bernardino County Recorder".
Mail requests should be received within one-two weeks of receipt by this office.
If you would like to expedite the mail delivery time, please submit the request
by one of the express services, such as FedEx, Priority Mail, etc., and include
a prepaid envelope for the
return of the copy.
